Tokyo-based dreampop artist Cuushe released the follow-up album to 2009’s Red Rocket Telepathy Monday last week. The first few beats of the intro track, “Sort of Light”, reminded me of Davao-based synth muse, Skymarines. The twinkly, but otherwise pleasant mood of the album, gives off a general sense of floating on a pastel-hued sky. That, and Cuushe’s delicate and feathery vocals blend perfectly against a lofty beat production. Early favorites include “I Miss You”, “Hanabi”, and “Twilight”.
