Blindspot

In a world where freedom is a captive

Ashes and dusts of unnamed men are one with the air

The ground is damp with tears for the besotted

And yet, my lungs are filled with air

My limbs are warm,

My eyes, as sharp as a hawk’s

For I see you in the middle of it all

Bare, in the earth’s core

And soon, every fetid sight, stench, and grotesque detail

Vanished and slowly replaced with

Your face, your vision

That made everything

So, so beautiful
